The Adult Education Department provides people with the opportunity to grow, change direction, and find their place in the labor market.

With us, adults can take courses, pursue vocational training, or learn Swedish. We create educational programs that meet both the needs of the labor market and people's dreams.

We are now looking for a language supporter in Swahili for SFI, study path 1. Students in study path 1 have little or no prior school background and often cannot read or write in their native language.

As a language supporter, you will be an important part of our team, where we together create a safe, inclusive, and developing learning environment for our students.

Responsibilities

Your role includes teaching student groups at different levels and planning lessons with associated preparation and follow-up work. The job involves close contact with the students, where you both provide instructions in Swahili to strengthen their understanding and support them in their reading and writing development in Swedish.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has Swahili as their native language. You are self-driven, flexible, and committed to supporting students' language development. You collaborate well with others and contribute to a safe and positive learning environment. It is important that you can build good relationships, communicate clearly, and adapt your working methods to individual needs. You also need to have good cultural understanding and be able to work in a structured and methodical way.

A pedagogical understanding of how teaching can be adapted for different students is required for the role. It is an advantage if you speak additional languages besides Swahili, preferably Tigrinya!

The position is a part-time employment as needed.
